How to improve sleep?

Post by Martha »

To improve sleep, try to stick to a consistent sleep and wake up time every day. Make room comfortable and cozy, also make sure pillows and mattress are comfortable. Don't eat too heavy or drink to much so you can rest well without having to go to bathroom. Take a warm relaxing shower. Wear comfortable sleep clothes and eye mask for darkness. Turn lights off or down low. You can play sleep music at a low volume. How do you think you can improve sleep?

To sleep better, make sure that your room is a dark, silent bedroom and don't eat heavy food or use the phones at bedtime.

You need to maintain a regular sleeping schedule, use a very comfortable mattress and light should be dark. Avoid drinking any caffeine in the late time and listen to relaxing music to induce sleep easily.

Don't use your phone or watch tv before bed. Screen time can really mess with your sleep cycle, the light from the screen tricks your brain into thinking it's daylight out. Have a set time that you go to sleep at every night and be sure not to eat or drink anything before bed.

Do lots of stuff so you're tired and get away from tech near the end of the day, it will help you sleep better.

This is apparently where I lack the most in.

I used to have insomnia really bad. However, it was health related and I got that sorted out and I thought my sleep significantly improved.

However, I recently got a new watch for running and it monitors your sleep if you enabled it to. I did. And now I get reports that my sleep sucks. I never have a good night's sleep. I don't get enough REM and I have a lot of interruptions.

I do feel unrested until I get a few cups of coffee in me,

Forgot to add the room should be extremely cold and cool, helps promote sleep.

We sleep with fans on. We try to keep it pretty cold in our bedroom all year round.

The only time I sleep in heat if when camping outdoors during the summer, but the sounds of nature usually help me go to sleep and a good long day of hiking helps, as well.

I started taking Benadryl for my allergies each night. I'd feel groggy though the next time. So, I started taking just half each night.

Now that I research it, I could be hurting my memory by doing that and increasing my change of dementia.

So, I'm going to quit using it unless I really need it.
