What’s the difference between body positivity and body neutrality?

Post by Louise »

It's confession time! I mix up these two all the time. 😅 But from what I get, body positivity = I love my curves and body neutrality = My body’s just… my body.🧍But on days I feel bleh, I just wont hesitate to go for neutrality as it makes me feels easier.

Which mindset works better for you? Share your take!

Body positivity means loving your body by accepting all of its peculiarities. Body neutrality is all about accepting your body in the current form. This is not about how the body looks but how well it functions. I am more of a neutral person and it's even less stressful on me.

Body positivity means loving your body despite its flaws. Body neutrality is boosting your self-esteem to accept your appearance by using words of affirmation. I make sure to concentrate on the positive aspects that I like about myself.

Body positivity works better for me, if I had body neutrality I wouldn't be comfortable with where I am currently at with my body. I'm still not 100% positive with my body quite yet but I am working towards being more positive in my skin.
