Tired of Work
Tired of Work
I work a lot. I get paid for it. However, I get tired of it. It's washing dishes at a restaurant.

Re: Tired of Work
I love my job and I am lucky that I can work from home, but some days it can feel like a chore. I tend to take some time out when it starts to get too much, so I do not get burned out. Unfortunately, this is not something you can do when you are hired to work a job so I can understand the burnout after a while.

Re: Tired of Work
I love my current job. I was getting to a point at my old job where going to work was becoming a chore. It wasn't just the actual work that was dragging me down, it was the people I worked with. Not all of them were terrible, but a good number of them were. They disrespected me and I felt like no matter what I was doing, I wasn't doing enough towards the end of my time there. So I was fed up with things and I put in applications and thankfully I got a job where I feel welcomed by everyone, and I love the tasks I have to do at work! I get praised for the work I do too! I do fear that burnout will get to me eventually, I think it happens to everyone. Currently though I'm not there yet. I hope I never get there with this job. This is the first time ever that I can say I truly love my job.

Re: Tired of Work
I go home and do stuff that restores a bit of my soul. No one likes to work, but we got to get it done.
Re: Tired of Work
A good work/life balance helps. For instance, I like to study coding when not at work because, for one thing, my brain gets no activity obviously while doing dishes.

It seems like sleep uses up too much off-time. How do you cope with it? Is it a problem for you?

Re: Tired of Work
I try to go to bed at decent times so I don't sleep away my days off. I know it can be difficult to try and go to bed early when you know you don't have to worry about getting up the next day for work. I also like to stay focus on projects or cleaning, that way I know I have things to do and I can't sleep my entire day away. The Jason wrote: Fri Sep 05, 2025 3:19 am It seems like sleep uses up too much off-time. Re: Tired of Work
Also finding another job could help, sometimes a current job gets tiring after awhile.

Find a better job that you'll enjoy. The Jason wrote: Thu Aug 14, 2025 4:42 pm I work a lot. I get paid for it. However, I get tired of it. It's washing dishes at a restaurant.

That doesn't mean find a dream job. That usually takes experience, education, and knowing someone.
But if you can find one better than your last, something you look forward to going to, then I say do that.
I quit a business-industry intelligence analyst job to go work as a surveillance investigator for a casino. I took a $10,000 pay cut in the process. I had to make changes to afford it but now I work somewhere I enjoy working. The last job paid better but I hated it so much that I stressed myself into getting ulcers. That's no way to live IMO
Work needs to be a positive thing in your life IMO

Re: Tired of Work
I 100% agree with you Shawn! If you're miserable at your current job, then it's time to move on. You want it to be a positive experience since you're going to be there more than at home if you work full time.
