This will sound dumb but apparently some people still don't get that plus size women are beautiful? Like seriously? In 2025? Come on people, we need to talk about this because the answer is SO obvious - yes, they are beautiful and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to get their eyes checked lol. Marilyn Monroe, who everyone says was like the most beautiful woman ever, wore a size 12-14. That would be considered plus size today! But in the 1950s she was THE beauty standard. Then the 90s came along and suddenly everyone wanted to look like super skinny supermodels.
Different Cultures Think Differently About Beauty
This is another thing that's really interesting. What's considered beautiful in America might be totally different somewhere else in the world. Like in a lot of African countries, curvier women are seen as more attractive because it shows that they're healthy. In Fiji (before they got all influenced by Western media), bigger bodies were actually preferred.
So basically, our obsession with being super thin is just a Western thing.
The Biology
From an evolutionary standpoint. Being attracted to curvier women actually makes sense. Back in caveman times, curves meant someone was healthy, could have babies, and wouldn't starve during tough times. Our brains are still kinda wired that way. Basically, our brains are already programmed to find plus size women attractive. Society just tries to tell us otherwise.
Dumb Things People Believe About Plus Size Women
There are some really harmful myths about plus size women that need to die. Like the idea that being plus size automatically means you're unhealthy or lazy. That's not only scientifically wrong, it's also super mean too.
Another myth is that plus size women have to "settle" for less in relationships or jobs. That's a total lie because there are so many plus size doing well in their career. Oprah, Adele, Queen Latifah are good examples. These women didn't settle for less or just anything. They're out here living their best lives and being amazing making huge figures.
