Simply put, acceptance is making peace and it isn’t just about liking tough situations but it’s stopping the fight against things that you can’t actually change. So, even if you yell at the sky, it doesn't stop the rain from falling.🤣

3 Myths About Acceptance

1. Acceptance is giving up. The truth is that it's not giving up but it's a way to free your energy to focus on what you can control.

2. I must agree with what happened. No, that's exactly not the case! The truth is you just accept the reality.

3. It’s easy for others, not me. Nothing we can't accomplish if we make the decision to learn. It's a skill anyone can learn with practice.

6 Ways to Practice Acceptance Daily

1. Name Your Feelings. Name your feelings and say out loud. This frees you from negative energy.

2. Breathe Through Discomfort. Whenever you are stressed, breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 2 and Exhale for 6. Then, repeat it for like 3 times. It calms your nerves instantly.

3. Use "And" Statements. Try to replace "But" with "And". For instance, instead of say: "I lost my job, BUT I’m a failure" Say “I lost my job, AND I’m skilled at other things. That really helps a lot.

4. Practice Radical Self-Acceptance.
Whenever you face a mirror, take a moment to practice self-acceptance by saying: "I accept myself just how am I today" Doing so gives you the positive energy to face the day.

5. Write an Unchangeable List. Listing all the things you can’t control or what you don't have the power to change like weather, past mistakes or even others’ opinions is very crucial and a big step towards self-acceptance

6). Connect with Nature. Connecting with nature is indeed a practical step towards self acceptance. Watching the trees, clouds, or animals can elevate your mood greatly..

When Acceptance Isn’t Enough

Acceptance means tolerating the actual conditions, but it should be something you can change. Don't accept abuse or disrespect. It also means not accepting negative self-talk too.

Seek help if stuck
One thing you shouldn't neglect is seeking help whenever you are stuck. Consult Therapists or reliable support groups if you need help.

Acceptance is about throwing off the struggle against those things you have no control over such as bad weather. You need to be mindful and concentrate more on what you can change. That's how to practice self acceptance.

To practice acceptance, you have to admit the realities, and that means you should not struggle against it. Writing your thoughts down can help you concentrate on something you can change..
