Is Yoga good for mental health?

Post by HikerShawn »

I've started doing 10-minute Yoga sessions a few days a week.

The main reason is to stretch and hopefully make my aching joints feel better. I'm really tall and us tall folk usually have joint problems as we age.

But it has also put me in a better mood and less stressed.

Do you feel Yoga is good for your mental health? Why is this do you think?

I think stretching in general makes you feel good, which could be why yoga is good for mental health. It's also a good way to decompress from life which also makes you feel better mentally too.

It helps reduce muscle strain and feel more flex.
You don't have to be stretchy like Mr Fantastic (Fantastic 4) or Elastigirl (The Incredibles) but just use your own pace.

A healthy body is a healthy mind. I do believe yoga can help people a lot.

I hope to one day get to where I can stretch my body in all different manners.

I hear once you accomplish that, back pain and joint pain goes away or at least is less severe.
