Traveling While Plus-Size (Airplane Seats, Hotels, etc.)

Post by Louise »

Travel girlies, how do y’all deal with tiny airplane seats?? I just came back from a 3-hour flight and it was torture the whole time 😫.

The armrests dig into my hips, the seatbelts are always too tight, and don’t even get me started on those tiny hotel showers abroad.

I’ve heard some people bring their own seatbelt extender or always book aisle, but idk what else works.

Do you know any hacks for comfy travel when you’re curvy? Airlines with bigger seats? Hotel recs?

My wife booked a flight with Southwestern Airlines to see her friend in New York, she was able to get an extra seat for free and she was comfortable during her flight. I suggest seeing if you can get multiple seats when you have to fly next, that way you don't have to worry about the armrests digging into you.

Seatbelt extenders are a game changer, I started requesting one as soon as I sit down and the flight attendants don’t even blink. It was a very peaceful experience.

Ugh airplane seats are the WORST. I always book aisle so I can stretch out one side a little. Also Southwest is way roomier than Spirit or Frontier.

It's not easy, specially if a seat is small. Really need to do some research to see what best options there are.
