Tight fitness clothing

Post by HikerShawn »

I do a lot of fitness-related activities where wearing spandex/Lycra clothing is acceptable.

I am a cyclist and wear it for that. I trail run and wear compression for that. I also wear it for hiking, squeezing into caves (usually wetsuits), and activities like that.

But being sort of plus size, I didn't want to wear it at first because I felt embarrassed.

What cured me was the fact that everyone else wore it, big and small and those of us doing fitness don't care about what each other wears. That's really all that matters.

How do you all feel in the plus size community?

I don't like how fitness clothing feels, I don't like tight clothes so it just makes me feel uncomfortable to wear them. I don't really care what others think about my appearance, but I like to wear looser fitting clothing while exercising to help cool me down.

If you're plus size, or regular, I think the clothing should be loose or the sweat could build up.
