How do you handle the problem? Do you feel the problem can be fixed? How can it?

I would tell them to step back, respect my boundaries and work on a soloution.

I would talk to my wife if she ever became overbearing. Communication is the key for any relationship and I feel like many people forget this. To be fair, it can be hard to start a conversation like this but you should always be able to feel welcome to talk to your spouse about anything in life.

I would speak to them about how they were being and let them know I am not comfortable at all.

It is as simple as this. My partner should know when to stop in terms of how they relate and meddle in some of my affairs. So, communicating to them on when to stop is the best thing to do.

I do have my gf that likes to hover, but mostly because she is lonely and I'm willing to work with that.

What does it mean to be overbearing?

Does that mean there is a trust issue? If so, I couldn't be in a relationship like that. If you two can't trust each other, what do you really have? Besides a negative experience?
