Water helps with softening the stool. It lubricates the colon which makes it easier for all your waste to move frequently and easier through the digestive system. Why do you think you're pooping more since drinking more water?

If you take in more water, it accelerates the digestion process since it hydrates your system. It's so because it added to the number of bowel movements.

Adding more water makes your stool softer, and normally would increase the activity in the colon, so you’ll end up pooping more often. It is just your body adapting to a better hydration, particularly when your food contains a lot of fibre.

You may have been slightly dehydrated before. Not pooping as much would be a part of dehydration, even if only minor.

I poop every day and people should do that, something a few times a day. If water is helping you go, embrace that. If it's giving you the runs, go see a DR.

I never knew that if you didn't go number 2 as often is a sign of dehydration. That makes sense why you tend to go to the bathroom more after drinking water. Of course it also gets filtered and you urinate more too.

Oh yeah. It can definitely aid in that.

However, if your #2 is running as in diarrhea, that can really dehydrate you as well if you don't drink fluids. That's why water consumption is so important when you have the flu or sickness that causes that.
