How do you gain self-acceptance?

We start to gain self acceptance when we start to acknowledge our personal flaws without shame. We don't need to push ourselves towards achieving perfection or impressing anyone. All we need to is to surround ourselves with positive things through daily affirmations. Self acceptance is not what you can achieve at once because it grows gradually when negative self-talk are replaced with positive ones.

I gained self confidence by focusing on the things I like about myself and I made it a routine every day. With time, it enabled me to stop being too critical of myself.

I also stop being negative about myself when I realised that I do not need to be perfect to be accepted. So, that really lifted my spirit.
