What happens if you drink only water and no other drinks?
Water only and no other drinks can cause electrolyte imbalances and nutrient deficiencies that can come from other drinks. While water does provide good hydration it does not have any nutrients or electrolytes needed for the body to properly perform as other drinks provide. What do you think happens if you only drink water and no other drinks?

You need other drinks too. So you need nutrients that add energy to the muscles.

Water is a good hydrator but it does not contain vitamins or minerals that can be found in other beverages and thus can create an imbalance which can lead to low potassium or sodium after some time if you fail to take other drinks.

You should drink other things besides water, but you should also strive to drink 8 glasses of water a day. Your body needs electrolytes which you can get from sports drinks.
