Trends usually mean forking out more money, feeling bad when they don't have your size, and trying to impress others by being a part of the "what's popular right now" train.
Are trends actually a good thing? Or are they a trap?
How do you all feel about this?

They do seem like a money trap, they take your money, you have something for a short while and then it's bad to have.

Yeah I think they're a money grab and a trap. Once they go out of style, you're also stuck with clothes you might not want to wear anymore. I never follow trends, I just wear whatever is comfortable and my wife is the same way lol.

Re: Are trends a trap?
I've always steered clear of trends myself because of this.
I feel like a lot of people fall into this trap and beat themselves up when they can't partake in them.

Yeah I'm the same way, and I definitely agree. I never really followed the trends, they change too much and definitely seem like a money grab.HikerShawn wrote: Thu Dec 04, 2025 8:09 pm I've always steered clear of trends myself because of this.

Re: Are trends a trap?
I bought some Under Armour apparel for running. It's the trend, right? The big brand. Pretty much junk. The no name brand on Amazon does a better job.Ravenfreak wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 11:09 pmYeah I'm the same way, and I definitely agree.
